Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to experience intense heat on Saturday morning as temperatures rose sharply across several parts of the state. According to the latest weather update provided by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) till 11:30 AM, western Odisha remained the hottest region.
Jharsuguda recorded the highest temperature of 40.0°C, making it the hottest place in the state by mid-morning. Rourkela followed closely with 38.8°C, while Hirakud and Sambalpur registered 38.6°C. Keonjhar reported 37.6°C, and Chandbali recorded 36.0°C.
The state capital Bhubaneswar recorded a temperature of 35.7°C by 11:30 am. Coastal areas remained comparatively cooler, with Puri at 32.2°C, Paradip at 32.0°C, and Gopalpur at 31.2°C.
People have been advised to avoid direct exposure to the sun, especially between 11 am and 4 pm, and to stay hydrated.
