Jharsuguda: Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Wednesday conducted a detailed review of various development projects in Jharsuguda Block and set strict timelines for their completion.
Pujari directed the Block Development Officer to complete all ongoing projects by May 31 and start pending works by May 7. He stressed ensuring quality, adherence to criteria, and timely completion of every project.
In the meeting, projects under the Western Odisha Development Council, Developed Villages and Developed Odisha, Chief Minister’s Special Assistance, Corporate Social Responsibility of NTPC and MCL, MLA Local Area Development Fund, and MP Local Area Development Fund were reviewed. The BDO informed that out of 171 development projects, 88 have been completed while 18 are in progress.
The Minister directed officials to inspect the quality of completed works and expedite the ongoing ones. Pujari ordered issuance of show cause notices to contractors who failed to complete work on time and asked for cancellation of work orders if necessary.
In view of the prevailing heat wave, the Minister instructed officials to inspect drinking water projects and ensure supply reaches all villages in the block. He also directed construction of a special water tanker in Charbati village under Loisinga panchayat.
“Our goal is that in a people’s government, all welfare development projects reach the people at the right time. We will ensure that people standing at the bottom of the queue at the grassroots level get the benefits of government projects,” Pujari said.
