Bhubaneswar: Jharsuguda and Titilagarh once again topped the day temperature chart on Thursday as intense heat wave conditions continued across Odisha.
Jharsuguda recorded the state’s highest temperature at 44.1°C, followed closely by Titilagarh at 44.0°C. The state capital Bhubaneswar sizzled at 43.5°C. Nuapada registered 43.0°C while Sundargarh recorded 42.8°C.
Hirakud and Rourkela both logged 42.6°C. Sonepur saw 42.3°C, and Bhawanipatna and Boudh each recorded 42.0°C. Anugul reported 41.7°C, Bargarh 41.2°C, Malkangiri 41.0°C, Phulbani 40.6°C, and Paralakhemundi 40.1°C.
The India Meteorological Department has warned that heat wave conditions are likely to prevail in several districts and advised people to avoid stepping out during peak afternoon hours.
