Bargarh: More than 100 forest employees of the Bargarh Forest Division have decided to go on an indefinite mass leave starting today, protesting against the alleged misconduct and harassment by the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO).
According to reports, before launching the agitation, the employees gathered at the Maa Parapaat Temple and took a collective oath. They vowed not to resume duty until the DFO is transferred from the division. The forest staff have accused the DFO of mental and physical harassment. They also alleged that he has been exerting undue pressure and ill-treating the employees.
Reacting to the allegations, the Bargarh DFO strongly denied all charges. Speaking to the media from his office, the DFO claimed that he has not imposed financial pressure on any employees. He stated that he has only been strict regarding official work and duties. I have no personal grudge against any employee.
He further suggested that the employees are making such allegations because he is insisting on discipline and proper performance of duties.
