Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident driven by rage over a love proposal, a young man was brutally beaten to death in the Simulia police station area of Balasore district.
According to reports, the deceased Subas, son of Sudarshan Sutar of Purushottampur Panchayat, had proposed love to the daughter of Bhagaban Kar of Birabrahmapur village under Kanchapada Panchayat through mobile phone. When Bhagaban Kar came to know about the relationship, he allegedly kidnapped Subas with the help of his associates. The victim was then taken to an Anganwadi centre located inside the premises of Birabrahmapur School, where he was tied to a pillar and mercilessly assaulted.
Subash was rescued in a critical condition and admitted to Simulia Medical Facility. Due to his deteriorating health, he was later shifted to Bhadrak Medical College Hospital. However, doctors there declared him dead.
A complaint has been registered at Simulia Police Station regarding the incident. Following the complaint, Simulia Police have detained one person and are currently interrogating him.
The brutal assault led to the young man’s death on the spot. Police have registered a case at Simulia Police Station and have launched an investigation.
