Sonepur: In a shocking incident, the bodies of a young couple were found hanging from a banyan tree at Gulunda village under Binka police station in Subarnapur district on Thursday.
The deceased, believed to be lovers, were found hanging from the tree with a red-coloured towel used as nooses. Their identities are yet to be established.
As per reports, a bag and a pair of slippers belonging to both were found at the base of the tree. Local residents alerted the police after spotting the bodies. Police teams immediately reached the spot and recovered the bodies.
Further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the suicide.
Meanwhile, police are examining the bag and other items recovered from the spot for clues and are trying to identify the deceased through various leads.
