Bhubaneswar: In a significant move, the Odisha government has initiated concrete steps to launch a dedicated television channel dedicated to Lord Jagannath, the revered Lord of the Universe and the spiritual heartbeat of millions of devotees worldwide.
A high-level meeting, chaired by Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, was convened today at the Law Department conference hall in Lok Seva Bhawan to deliberate on the establishment of this exclusive Jagannath TV channel.
The discussions centred on developing a comprehensive framework for the channel, which aims to broadcast the daily rituals, grand festivals, and rich cultural heritage associated with Shree Jagannath, while spreading the deity’s divine message across the globe.
Describing the initial talks as “highly positive and promising,” Minister Harichandan stated that the proposed channel would serve as a dynamic platform to introduce Jagannath culture to a global audience, promote scholarly research and meaningful dialogue, and authentically capture the deep devotion and emotions of millions of followers. He added that the state government is approaching the initiative with strong enthusiasm and that a detailed roadmap will be prepared in the coming days.
The meeting saw active participation from senior officials, including Shree Jagannath Temple Chief Administrator Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee and senior bureaucrats from the Law Department. They contributed valuable inputs on creating a balanced mix of devotion, culture, education, and entertainment through the channel.
