Angul: A friendly day-night T20 cricket match was organised between the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB), Odisha, and Jindal Steel, Angul, aimed at promoting sportsmanship, environmental awareness, and community bonding.
The exciting match witnessed enthusiastic participation from officials, employees, and members of the local community, reflecting the spirit of teamwork and collaboration beyond the workplace. Captained by Sitakantha Sahu, the SPCB team posted a competitive total of 136 runs in 18.4 overs. In reply, the Jindal Steel team, led by Dhananjay Kumar Singh, successfully chased the target, scoring 140/5 in 12.4 overs and securing a five-wicket victory.
The SPCB team displayed remarkable fighting spirit and commendable performance throughout the match. Dibyaranjan Pradhan was declared Man of the Match for his explosive innings of 52 runs off just 21 balls.
Senior dignitaries present on the occasion included Executive Director, Angul, P. K. Biju Nair; Executive Director (Iron Zone), Damodar Mittal; and Vice President (EMD), Alok Kumar Sahu from Jindal Steel, along with senior officials from the State Pollution Control Board.
Welcoming the players, P. K. Biju Nair and Damodar Mittal encouraged the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork. Biju Nair stated that the State Pollution Control Board has been partnering with Jindal Steel in promoting environmental responsibility and working toward a better future for coming generations.
