Bhubaneswar: Amid growing concerns over a possible cyclonic system developing in the Bay of Bengal, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Monday assured that the state government is fully geared up to handle any emergency situation arising from natural disasters.
The Minister emphasized that Odisha continues to be a leading state in disaster preparedness and management. He said the state maintains round-the-clock vigilance and remains ready to respond swiftly based on alerts issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Highlighting the state’s strengthened disaster response mechanism, Minister said, “Odisha stays prepared throughout the year to effectively deal with cyclones and other natural calamities. Odisha has built strong capabilities over the years to minimize the impact of natural disasters.”
The Minister further noted, “Odisha has always been at the forefront in managing natural calamities. We are prepared 365 days a year. As per IMD forecasts, the state is completely ready to face any challenge.”
Referring to the state’s spiritual heritage, Pujari expressed hope that divine blessings would protect Odisha. “We have the blessings of Lord Jagannath and Lord Lingaraj. Let us hope the cyclone changes its course and does not hit our state,” he said.
