Ranchi: Bhavya Ranjan, a student of Oxford School in Ranchi, has brought laurels to the city by emerging as the national topper in the Arts stream in the CBSE Class 12 examinations, securing 99.8 per cent marks.

Following the announcement of the results, scenes of celebration were witnessed on the school campus.

Teachers and family members described the achievement as the outcome of hard work, discipline, and continuous guidance.

Bhavya credited her success to her parents, teachers, and the academic environment of the school.

She said that the school’s special academic initiative, “Target 100”, played a key role in her preparation.

Under this programme, students aiming for top scores in all subjects were brought together and given daily practice questions, with teachers providing immediate guidance on difficult topics.

According to Bhavya, this not only made her studies more systematic but also significantly boosted her confidence over time.

Bhavya scored 499 marks out of 500 in the examination. Her parents became emotional and felt proud of her achievement. Her father, Rajeev Ranjan, said that his daughter had fulfilled the family’s dream, adding that her next goal is to succeed in the civil services.

Bhavya also said that studying in the same school from Class 1 to Class 12 was an important factor behind her success.

She added that consistent guidance from teachers and a disciplined academic environment helped her stay focused on her goals.

She now plans to pursue graduation and post graduation in History subject, while simultaneously continuing preparations for the civil services.

Bhavya’s father also said that he had resigned from a private sector job to prioritise his daughter’s education and preparation.

Her mother, Bikki Gandhi, is a teacher and also played an active role in guiding her studies throughout the years.

The CBSE on Wednesday declared the Class 12 board examination results, recording an overall passing percentage of 85.20 per cent.

A key highlight is the sharp drop in the passing percentage of students, as compared to the last year.
