Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance officials has uncovered significant assets during its ongoing searches on the properties linked to Bhubaneswar Sabar, Executive Engineer (EE) of R&B Sub-Division, Dharmagarh, who is also holding additional charge of R&B Division, Bhawanipatna.
So far, the Vigilance team has unearthed 4 multi-storeyed buildings, 39.64 acres of land in the form of 33 plots, one farmhouse spread over 9 acres, and one market complex with 8 cabins during the raids conducted at six locations.
Key Assets Detected:
- One double-storeyed building (approx 4500 sqft) at Gosanimunda, Bhawanipatana.
- One double-storeyed building (approx 2625 sqft) at Kusumkhunti, Koksara.
- Two double-storeyed buildings under construction (4228 sqft and 1300 sqft).
- One market complex with 8 cabins (2214 sqft) at Moter Chhak, Koksara.
- One farmhouse spread over 9 acres at Kitpadar near Bhawanipatana.
- 33 plots totalling 39.64 acres in Bhawanipatana and Koksara areas.
- One Hyundai Creta car.
The measurement and valuation of these properties are being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing. Details of bank deposits, postal savings, and other financial investments are also being ascertained.
Sabar joined government service on 1st July 1999 as a Junior Engineer with an initial salary of just Rs 6,000. He was promoted to Assistant Engineer in 2013 and to Assistant Executive Engineer in 2016. He was promoted to the rank of Executive Engineer in March 2024 and is currently posted at R&B Sub-Division, Dharmagarh, while also holding additional charge of R&B Division, Bhawanipatna since January 2025.
Searches are still continuing, and further details are awaited. The case relates to allegations of possession of disproportionate assets beyond his known sources of income.
