Bhadrak: The body of a college student was found hanging position from the bathroom of his house in Charmpa Bazaar area under Bhadrak Town Police Station on Thursday morning, triggering serious allegations of murder by his family members.
The deceased has been identified as Sambit Biswal, a Plus III Second Year Commerce student of Charmpa College.
According to family sources, Sambit had gone for a morning walk and returned home. A short while later, his family members found his body hanging in the bathroom behind the house.
Meanwhile, Sambit’s family has strongly alleged that it was a premeditated murder. They claimed that Sambit’s hands were tied behind his back and a cloth was stuffed in his mouth. They have raised doubts over the possibility of suicide, pointing out that the towel was tied to a hanger at a very low height of around 4 to 5 feet.
“His hands and mouth were tied. It is impossible for someone to hang himself at such a low height. This appears to be a well-planned murder,” his father alleged.
Upon receiving information, Town Police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The body was sent for post-mortem, while a scientific team has arrived at the location and begun a detailed forensic examination of the scene.
Further investigation is underway.
