Bhubaneswar: In a unique and creative effort to promote voter awareness, internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has crafted an impressive sand sculpture on Puri Beach highlighting the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of electoral rolls.
The artwork, created as part of a voter awareness programme, prominently features the message “SIR | SPECIAL INTENSIVE REVISION” in large letters. The installation includes a depiction of a woman in traditional attire, symbolic of public participation in the electoral process, alongside colourful representations of urban structures. Informational panels in Odia provide details about Booth Level Officers (BLOs), helpline numbers, and instructions for voters regarding the revision process.
Sharing the initiative on X, Pattnaik wrote: ”Conducted a voter awareness programme at Puri Beach in Odisha ahead of the launch of #SIR2026. Through the powerful medium of sand art, conveyed the message of public participation and underscored the importance of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 in ensuring an accurate electoral roll and strengthening our democratic process.”
