3 Arrested For Illegal Blasting At Stone Quarry In Subarnapur

Blasting At Stone Quarry

Subarnapur: Police have arrested three persons for allegedly engaging in illegal blasting activities at a stone quarry near Talpadar village under the Tarbha police station limits in Subarnapur district on Monday.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Bikash Pradhan, Dhruba Charan Sahu, and Sachindra Bhoi.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid near Talpadar village in Brahmani Panchayat under the Tarbha block after receiving information that illegal blasting was being carried out at the quarry. During the operation, police recovered a large quantity of explosives, including 15 bundles of detonators and 225 packets of gunpowder, each weighing 25 kg.

Police also seized two pickup vans allegedly used to transport the explosives.

The three accused, including two drivers involved in the illegal operation, were arrested on the spot and later forwarded to court today.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
