Bhubaneswar: Students from Bhubaneswar have delivered a strong performance in the JEE Advanced examination, with Bhavesh Patra securing an All India Rank (AIR) of 29. Two other students from the city, Aryasaman Pradhan and Dibyanshu Mohapatra, also secured impressive ranks of AIR 314 and AIR 951 respectively.

All three students, who are studying in a private CBSE school in Bhubaneswar, have expressed their aspiration to join the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) for higher education. Their results reflect consistent preparation, disciplined study routines and sustained academic guidance.

Bhavesh Patra, who emerged among the top 30 candidates in the examination, said his performance was the result of two years of focused preparation and strict discipline. He had earlier secured AIR 13 in JEE Main 2026 Session 2, emerging as one of the top performers from Odisha.

“I feel extremely happy. This result is the outcome of the efforts I put in during the last two years. I used to study for more than 10 hours every day and would only sleep after completing my daily targets. My mentors guided me throughout and helped me set goals. I stayed away from social media during this period, except WhatsApp, which I used to stay in touch with my teachers,” he said.

Aryasaman Pradhan, who secured AIR 314, said he was satisfied with his performance and now aims to pursue Electrical Engineering (EE) at IIT Bombay. He also expressed interest in academic research in the future.

“I am happy with my result. My next goal is IIT Bombay in Electrical Engineering (EE). I studied for about eight to ten hours daily and focused mainly on completing assignments and analysing previous tests,” he said.

Dibyanshu Mohapatra, who secured AIR 951, said he was slightly disappointed as his rank did not fully match his expectations, but expressed satisfaction at being within the top 1,000.

“I was a little disappointed because my rank was not exactly what I had expected. However, I am happy to have secured a rank within the top 1,000. Consistency is very important, and achieving daily targets makes a big difference. I studied for around eight to nine hours every day,” he said.

The students’ performance highlights the strong showing of Bhubaneswar-based candidates in one of the country’s most competitive engineering entrance examinations.
