Boudh: Two persons died on the spot after the motorcycle they were travelling in collided with a stationary truck in Boudh district on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Upendra Bhagat and Dushmanta Dehury.
According to police, the incident occurred near Hatpada area of Karanjakata village under Purunakata police station limits. The two victims were returning home on a motorcycle after completing their work near Tilakup village when they rammed into a parked Hyva. Both of them died instantly due to the impact. Their bodies were shifted to Purunakatak Hospital for post-mortem.
It is learnt that both of them were working with a contractor engaged in the Khordha-Balangir railway track project.
Puranakatak police have registered a case (Case No. 111/26) and have initiated further investigation.
Police are examining the truck and trying to trace the driver, who is suspected to have fled from the spot.
