Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a nowcast warning for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds in four districts of Odisha.
According to the nowcast warning issued at 1:15 pm on June 3, thunderstorms with lightning, rain, and wind speeds reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Cuttack, and Dhenkanal districts during the next three hours.
The India Meteorological Department has advised people in these districts to remain alert and closely monitor the weather.
Citizens have been urged to move to safer locations if conditions worsen to protect themselves from lightning strikes and strong winds.
This warning comes as Odisha continues to experience intense summer conditions with scattered thundershowers in several parts of the state.
