Cuttack: The proposed bus strike called by private bus owners in Odisha on June 10 has been temporarily suspended. After a meeting with the Transport Commissioner today, the Private Bus Owners Association decided to defer the strike.
As per reports, the association has given the state government time till June 29 to fulfil their demands. If the government fails to address their issues by then, the bus owners warned that they will resume the strike from June 30 onwards.
Debenndra Kumar Sahu, General Secretary of the Private Bus Owners Association, informed the media that the association has proposed a fare hike based on 14 parameters. The State Transport Authority (STA) will consider this proposal, after which the state government will take a final decision on bus fare revision.
