Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has convened a high-level meeting on June 10 at the party’s state headquarters, Sankha Bhawan.
According to a press release issued by the party, the meeting will be held at 4 pm on June 10. All leaders who contested the recent general elections as BJD candidates or candidate nominees have been directed to attend.
BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has instructed all concerned leaders to be present without fail. The meeting is expected to review the party’s performance and organisational matters.
Besides, discussions will be held on the implementation of the SIR programme announced earlier, formation of organisational committees at block and municipal levels, and other party activities.
Party sources said that leaders will get an opportunity to directly interact with the party president and discuss various issues. The president is likely to take stock of the ground situation and seek feedback from the leaders.
With the Panchayat Elections approaching, the meeting is being seen in political circles as a major organisational exercise by BJD to strengthen the party structure at the grassroot-level before the crucial local polls.
