Puri: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made an unscheduled landing in Puri on Monday after adverse weather conditions prevented his helicopter from landing in Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, the Chief Minister was returning from an official programme in Mayurbhanj when inclement weather affected flight operations in and around Bhubaneswar. As a precautionary measure, the helicopter was diverted and landed safely in Puri.
The helicopter touched down at the Samanga temporary bus stand, where necessary arrangements were made following the unexpected landing.
No untoward incident was reported, and the diversion was carried out purely as a safety measure in view of the prevailing weather conditions. Further details regarding the Chief Minister’s onward journey were awaited.
