Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on June 19 and 20 to mark the successful completion of two years of the state government and 12 years of the central government.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held a high-level review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan on Friday to ensure smooth conduct of the high-profile visit and tighten security arrangements.
Chief Secretary Anu Garg, DGP YB Khurania, ACS Home Hemant Sharma, and other senior officials attended the meeting. The CM directed all departments to work in coordination to avoid any lapse during the mega public meeting and VVIP movement.As per the review, President Murmu will arrive in her home district Mayurbhanj on June 19 for a two-day visit. June 20 marks the President’s birthday, which she will celebrate in her birthplace and first workplace Rairangpur.
“It is a matter of great pride and joy for the entire people of Odisha,” the Chief Minister said. Special arrangements have been made by the state government and local administration to welcome the President.Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join the President in Rairangpur on June 20 for a historic state-level mega event. The two leaders will jointly address a huge public meeting in Mayurbhanj district.
The visit will see the foundation stone laying and inauguration of projects worth thousands of crores for Odisha and Mayurbhanj. Discussions in the meeting revealed that the much-awaited railway project and mega coal gasification project will be inaugurated. On June 19, various development-oriented programmes of the Health Department will also be inaugurated at Rairangpur Sub-Divisional Hospital.
Chief Minister Majhi said the joint visit will further accelerate the pace of development of the state. The meeting was also attended by CM’s Advisor Prakash Mishra, Development Commissioner DK Singh, ACS to CM Shashwat Mishra, and DG Intelligence Binaytosh Mishra.
