Rajasthan Govt Lifts Transfer Ban For 16 Days; Employees Can Seek Transfers Till July 5

Jaipur: In a major relief for state government employees, the Rajasthan government has lifted the ban on transfers and postings, opening a 16-day window for departments to carry out transfer exercises across the state.

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Coordination issued an order on Friday permitting transfers from June 19 to July 5.

The move ends months of speculation and is expected to trigger large-scale administrative reshuffles across government departments and agencies.

The relaxation applies to all state government departments, along with corporations, commissions, boards, and autonomous bodies. Departments have been authorised to prepare transfer proposals and complete the approval process within the stipulated period.

The decision comes as welcome news for thousands of employees who have been awaiting transfers.

With the transfer window remaining open only until July 5, officials and employees will need to complete applications and departmental formalities within the deadline.

Despite the relaxation, certain categories of employees will continue to remain outside the transfer process.

The government has retained the transfer ban on personnel and doctors of the Medical and Health Department in view of the upcoming monsoon season. Similarly, third-grade teachers in the Education Department have not been included in the current transfer exercise and will have to wait for further directions. The government has also specified priority categories for transfers.

Preference will be given to single women, widows, and women abandoned by their spouses. Employees suffering from serious illnesses, including cancer and major brain, heart, lung, or kidney diseases, will also receive priority, provided they submit certification from a medical board or other competent authority.

Additionally, preference will be extended to differently-abled employees, those with long service records, and government employees seeking postings alongside their spouses.

With the transfer window open for just over two weeks, departments are expected to expedite the process to ensure all proposals are finalised before the July 5 deadline.
