Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for light to moderate rainfall over parts of Khurda and Cuttack districts.
As per the nowcast alert issued at 08:50 am, light to moderate rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over Cuttack district (including Cuttack city) and Khordha district (including Bhubaneswar city) within the next one to two hours. These districts have been issued yellow warning.
The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, has advised people in these areas to keep a close watch on the weather for any worsening conditions. Though the warning is for light to moderate rain, sudden spells accompanied by gusty winds cannot be ruled out in such convective activity.
This is the second weather alert issued by IMD today for the twin cities and surrounding areas, indicating continued moist and unstable atmospheric conditions under the influence of the southwest monsoon
