Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has installed solar-powered dust collectors in the city as part of an initiative to improve air quality in pollution-prone areas.
In the first phase of the project, 20 dust collector machines have been deployed in the Lingaraj Temple and Patia areas, both of which experience high levels of dust pollution due to traffic movement, commercial activity, and nearby workshop operations.
The initiative aims to address growing concerns over air quality through the use of eco-friendly technology. The solar-powered dust collectors are designed to draw in contaminated, dust-laden air, filter out particulate matter generated from industrial and workshop processes, and release cleaner air back into the environment.
The deployment of these machines marks a step toward adopting sustainable and energy-efficient solutions for urban pollution control.
