Puri: The owner of Manorama Hotel in the Baliapanda area of Puri, was brutally murdered late on Tuesday night.
According to sources, the accused, Chandan Palar, a resident of Chakratirtha Road in Puri, was involved in the murder. Upon being informed, Baliapanda Police launched an investigation and tracked down the accused.
During the operation, Baliapanda Police opened fire on the accused Palar when the latter tried to flee the scene. As a result, Palar sustained a bullet injury to his left leg and was admitted to a hospital in Puri for treatment.
Meanwhile, police are continuing further investigation into the gruesome murder. Further details regarding the motive behind the killing are awaited. This incident has created tension in the Baliapanda area of Puri.
