Bhubaneswar: A four-year-old boy died after being bitten by a poisonous snake at Kandeimunda Pahadatoli village under Kutra block of Sundargarh district.
The deceased has been identified as Samarat Bilore, son of Keshab Bilore.
According to family members, Samarat was sleeping on a cot with his parents on Monday night when a venomous snake bit him around 3:30 am. The family immediately rushed him to Kutra Community Health Centre, where he received initial treatment. Doctors later referred him to the Sundargarh District Headquarters Hospital for further medical care. However, the child succumbed to the snakebite during treatment.
The tragic incident has plunged the family into deep grief. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
