Bhubaneswar: Panic spread after bomb threats were sent to the district courts of Jagatsinghpur and Jharsuguda via email on Friday.
As per reports, an unidentified person reportedly threatened to blow up both court premises in the email. Following the threatening email, security arrangements at both court premises were immediately tightened. On receiving information about the incident, police, bomb disposal squads, and a special squad rushed to the court premises and launched a detailed search operation. Every corner of the court complex is being checked and suspicious objects are under close watch. Besides, a cyber team has also started an investigation to trace the source of the threatening email.
However, during the initial search, no explosive materials have been found so far. As a precautionary measure, the administration has taken all necessary safety steps to avert any untoward incident.
Police are treating the matter seriously and the investigation is ongoing. Efforts are on to identify the person who sent the threat and ascertain the motive behind it.
