Puri: The Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration (SJTA) has lodged an FIR against a misleading advertisement promoting paid VIP darshan of Lord Jagannath.
In a formal complaint submitted to the Inspector-in-Charge of Singhadwara Police Station on July 19, the temple administration clarified that no VIP darshan on payment is permitted inside the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.
The administration has also not authorised any individual or organisation to offer such a facility. The complaint specifically mentions a fake advertisement by an entity called ‘eoOdisha’ promoting “MyEO Jagannath Dham Concierge Service,” which claimed to offer special VIP darshan facilities. The temple office has described the advertisement as completely fraudulent and intended to cheat the general public.
The letter, signed by Hemanta Kumar Padhi, OSD (Security), SJTA, states that the temple has no provision for paid VIP darshan and has warned devotees not to fall prey to such misleading claims.
The temple administration has urged the public to remain vigilant and rely only on official sources for information regarding darshan and services at the temple. Police have, meanwhile, registered a case based on the complaint and initiated necessary action.
