Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a yellow nowcast warning for eight districts of Odisha, forecasting light rain accompanied by light thunderstorms at one or two places during the next three hours.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, the districts likely to be affected are Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Khordha, Puri, Mayurbhanj, Kendujhar and Baleshwar.
The nowcast warning, issued at 4:15 pm, advised people in the affected districts to remain alert and keep a close watch on changing weather conditions. Residents have been urged to plan their outdoor activities accordingly and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety in case of worsening weather.
The IMD categorised the advisory as a Yellow Warning, indicating that people should remain aware of the prevailing weather conditions and exercise caution. The weather office said the warning will remain valid for the next three hours.
