Bhubaneswar: In a major step towards protecting the sacred traditions and heritage of Shree Jagannath Temple, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has secured approval for five more trademark applications

Sharing the update on X, Chief Administrator of Srimandir Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee informed that the applications have cleared the second stage of examination and have now been approved for publication in the upcoming Trademark Journal. The five terms approved are Jagannath Dham, Shree Khetra, Mahaprasad, Neelachakra and Koili Baikuntha.

With this, the Temple Administration aims to prevent unauthorised use and commercial misuse of names and symbols closely associated with Lord Jagannath and the 12th-century shrine in Puri.

The Chief Administrator described it as a ‘significant success’ in the direction of preserving the sanctity and heritage of Shree Jagannath Temple.

Earlier too, several terms related to the temple and its rituals were trademarked to ensure their exclusive use for religious and cultural purposes.
