Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will organise a ‘Nijukti Mela’ on August 1 to distribute appointment letters to 1,101 newly recruited candidates across seven departments.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to address the recruits and hand over the appointment letters at the event.
As per the official communication issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department, appointment letters will be distributed to 1,101 newly recruited candidates during the Nijukti Mela scheduled for August 01, 2026. Candidates selected in various departments including Housing & Urban Development, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water, Energy, Fisheries & Animal Resources Development, Sports & Youth Services, Skill Development & Technical Education, and Excise will receive their appointment letters at this event.
The Housing and Urban Development Department will see the highest number of recruitments with 364 Junior Engineers (Civil) getting appointment letters. The Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department will follow with 357 Junior Engineers (Civil).In the Energy Department, 248 candidates will receive letters. This includes 12 Junior Engineers (Electrical) under the Engineer-in-Chief (Electricity)-cum-Principal Chief Electrical Inspector Organisation, 67 Graduate Engineer Trainees, 10 Management Trainees, 34 Diploma Engineer Trainees and 125 Technical Non-Executive Trainees of Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC).
The Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department will appoint 86 people — 15 Junior Engineers (Civil) and 71 Livestock Inspectors. The remaining appointments include 25 Junior Coaches in the Sports and Youth Services Department, 11 Assistant Training Officers in the Skill Development and Technical Education Department, and 10 Excise Sub-Inspectors in the Excise Department.
Notably, the state government has been holding Nijukti Melas regularly to hand over appointment letters to newly selected candidates through a single platform.
The August 1 event is part of the government’s ongoing drive to fill vacant posts across departments and expedite the joining of recruits in public service.
