Bhubaneswar: In view of heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions, all schools and Anganwadi centres will remain closed today in ten districts of Odisha.
The district administrations of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Baragada, Kendujhar, Balangir, Sambalpur, Sundaragada, Debagada, Sonepur and Nuapada have also ordered the closure of all colleges as a precautionary measure to ensure student safety.
As per official order issued by the respective district administrations, classes have been suspended across Anganwadi centres, government, aided, and private schools, including Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), and Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) in these districts.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of the state over the next 24 hours. District administrations have appealed to parents and students to remain indoors and strictly follow official advisories issued from time to time.
