Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has appointed Somesh Kumar Upadhyay as the new Collector & District Magistrate of Bhadrak.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department on Thursday, Upadhyay, an IAS officer of the 2017 batch, who is serving as Director, Textiles & Handloom, Odisha, will take charge following the retirement of Dilip Routrai, on July 31.
The state government has also appointed Upadhyay as the District Magistrate of Bhadrak district in exercise of the powers conferred under section 14(1) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
Routrai, an SCS officer of the 2011 batch, is set to retire from government service on July 31.
