Bhubaneswar: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania on Friday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess security and safety arrangements for the scheduled visit of President Droupadi Murmu to the State on August 4.
Senior police and railway officials attended the meeting, including Director (Intelligence) R. P. Koche, ADGP (Law & Order) Sanjay Kumar, ADGP (SAP) Rajesh Kumar, Commissioner of Police (Bhubaneswar-Cuttack) Dr. Dev Datta Singh, Principal Chief Security Commissioner of East Coast Railway Alok Bohra, IGP (Central Range) Satyajit Naik and SP, CID-CB, Vivekananda Sharma.
Reviewing the preparations, the DGP directed all concerned agencies to strictly follow the security protocols prescribed in the Blue Book for VVIP visits. He instructed that nodal officers be designated to ensure effective coordination among all departments involved in the security arrangements.
The meeting decided that anti-sabotage checks would be carried out on priority at all venues and along the President’s travel route. Track patrolling will be intensified, while all railway level crossings on the route will remain manned throughout the visit. Railway personnel assigned to platform duties will also be identified in advance and issued duty passes to facilitate smooth access.
The DGP also reviewed arrangements for drone surveillance and continuous monitoring of the venue and travel route to further strengthen security preparedness.
Emphasising seamless coordination, Khurania directed senior officers of the Police, Railways and the civil administration to work in close coordination to ensure a smooth, secure and dignified visit of the President to the State.
