Odisha Minister Reviews Flood Damage

Kendujhar: Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik on Wednesday directed officials to expedite restoration work in flood-affected areas of Kendujhar district and ensure uninterrupted emergency services for affected residents.

Chairing a high-level review meeting at the Kendujhar Circuit House, the Minister assessed the damage caused by the recent floods and reviewed the progress of restoration and relief measures being undertaken by various departments.

The meeting was attended by Patna MLA Akhila Chandra Naik, Superintendent of Police Kusalkar Nitin Dagudu, Divisional Forest Officer Dhanraj Hanumant Dhamdhere, Chairperson of the Special Development Council, Kendujhar, Mamita Naik, Additional District Collector Rabindra Kumar Pradhan, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad Kumar Nagabhusan, along with other senior district officials.

Officials presented detailed reports on the damage to roads, bridges, drinking water infrastructure, power supply networks, agricultural lands, and forest areas. They also briefed the Minister on the ongoing restoration of road connectivity, repair of water supply systems, deployment of emergency response teams, and distribution of relief materials in the affected villages.

Expressing satisfaction over the coordinated efforts of the district administration, Minister Naik appreciated the prompt response of all departments in restoring essential services. He instructed officials to maintain close inter-departmental coordination, ensure uninterrupted emergency support, and remain prepared to tackle any further contingencies arising from the flood situation.

The Minister further stressed the need for continuous monitoring of the situation and directed the administration to provide timely assistance to all affected families until normalcy is fully restored across the district.
