Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today launched the state-wide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in the capital, describing it as a mass movement that has ignited patriotism across the country on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking at the launch event, the Chief Minister said the tricolor is the identity and pride of every Indian. “Our unity can defeat any external enemy. With the voice of our youth power, our country will be safe. Everyone should hoist the tricolor in their homes,” CM Majhi said. He further stated that the country is progressing rapidly and has now reached the fourth position in the world economy. “Odisha has an important role in the development of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is supporting the youth in every way,” he added.

Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Suryavanshi Suraj, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State President Manmohan Samal, and BJP State In-charge Vijay Singh Tomar were present at the event.

As part of the campaign, 60 lakh national flags are being prepared by women’s self-help groups across the state and are being distributed to all districts. A state-level ‘Tiranga Rally’ will be organized on August 9 by the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, while similar tricolor processions will be held at the district level to ensure mass participation.

The Chief Minister also announced that August 14 will be observed as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day at the state level at Jaydev Bhawan by the Odisha Sahitya Akademi. The day will be marked in all districts with tributes to families affected during the partition of the country and a candlelight procession.

The state government has appealed to citizens to take part enthusiastically in the campaign and hoist the national flag at their homes between August 9 and August 15.
