Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) General Manager Parmeshwar Funkwal on Sunday conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Arang Mahanadi-Titlagarh railway section, reviewing safety measures, passenger amenities, traffic facilities and ongoing infrastructure projects at various stations.
During the inspection, Funkwal reviewed the status of traffic facility works, passenger amenities and infrastructure development projects at Arang Mahanadi, Mahasamund, Khariar Road, Nawapara Road, Harishankar Road and Kantabanji stations.
The General Manager stressed the need to ensure safe and smooth train operations and directed railway officials to take all necessary precautionary measures. He also reviewed the progress of various infrastructure projects aimed at improving passenger facilities, including the development of parking and circulating areas and landscaping at railway stations.
Funkwal also took stock of station redevelopment works being undertaken under the Amrit Station Scheme, which seeks to improve passenger amenities and enhance the overall travel experience.
He emphasised the timely completion of the ongoing projects, stating that their early completion would contribute significantly to improving passenger services and railway infrastructure in the region.
Subash C. Chaudhary, Divisional Railway Manager, Sambalpur, along with other senior railway officials, was present during the inspection.
