Puri: Marking the second Monday of the holy month of Shravan, Padma Shri recipient and globally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik crafted a seven-foot sand sculpture of Lord Shiva on Puri beach.
The creation carries the inscriptions ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ and ‘Bhole Baba Paar Karega’. The artwork shows Lord Shiva holding the trident and wearing a serpent, with a Kanwar nearby. In the front, a Kanwariya pilgrim is portrayed receiving the deity’s blessings.
Created with students of the Sudarsan Sand Art Institute, the artwork celebrates faith, devotion, and the sacred traditions of the Shravan month.
Pattnaik shared that the piece aims to spread a message of trust, optimism, inner calm, and living in balance with nature. He expressed the hope that Mahadev would help people overcome challenges and bestow peace, courage, health, joy, and success on all.
“Through this artwork, I wish to convey a message of faith, hope, peace, and harmony with nature. May Mahadev guide us through every difficulty and bless everyone with peace, strength, good health, happiness, and prosperity,” he stated.
