Mayurbhanj: Police have recovered a blood-soaked dead body from an under-construction residential house in Badhuani village under Bisoi police station limits in Mayurbhanj district.
The deceased has been identified as Shiris Patel of the same village.
Acting on information that a young man was found lying in a pool of blood inside the incomplete house, Bisoi police rushed to the spot. Rairangpur Superintendent of Police Suresh Chandra Patra and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Birendra Senapati also arrived at the scene and supervised the investigation. A scientific team from Baripada examined the site. Following the examination, the SDPO confirmed that it was a case of murder.
The youth is believed to have died due to severe head injuries that led to heavy bleeding. Police have detained a person in connection with the murder and are continuing interrogation.
Police are probing the motive behind the killing and whether any others were involved. The incident has created a sensation in the local area.
