Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police is in the final stages of preparations for the state-level Independence Day parade to be held on Gandhi Marg tomorrow. The Capital city will be under tight security with elaborate arrangements in place for the celebrations.
More than 30 platoons of forces will be deployed to guard Bhubaneswar. Independence Day will be celebrated under multi-layer security cover including CCTV surveillance, Anti-Drone System and the Anti-Terrorist Squad. Traffic movement will also be closely monitored to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
A total of 50 contingents will take part in the parade ceremony. The contingents include personnel from the Army, various police platoons, NDRF, ODRAF, BSF, RPF and students from 25 schools.
Adding to the grandeur, 4 police bands and 4 different school bands will also perform on Gandhi Marg. The full dress rehearsal for Independence Day was concluded on Gandhi Marg yesterday.
