Baripada: In view of continuous rainfall in Mayurbhanj district, the District Magistrate has issued an important directive prioritizing student safety.
Block Education Officers (BEOs) have been authorized to close schools today, Tuesday, where school premises are submerged or roads are blocked due to the rains. The BEOs of the worst-affected Badasahi, Rasagobindpur and Betanati blocks have been instructed to keep all schools in these areas completely closed.
For the rest of the blocks in the district, Education Officers have been asked to review the local situation. They have been given the authority to close schools if it appears dangerous for children to attend. In areas where the impact of rain is less, school work will continue as normal. However, the District Magistrate has ordered officials to keep a close watch on the situation throughout the day.
“The safety of children is the top priority,” the District Collector said in the directive.
