Jajpur: Jajpur Police have cracked two armed robbery cases registered at Binjharpur and Jajpur Sadar police stations and arrested two persons following a coordinated investigation and raids across multiple locations, police said on Wednesday.
The arrested accused have been identified as Akash Pradhan and Prakash Pradhan.
According to police, the two cases were registered as Binjharpur PS Case No. 345 dated July 14, 2026, under Sections 309(4)/3(5) of the BNS read with Sections 25/27 of the Arms Act, and Jajpur Sadar PS Case No. 268 dated August 10, 2026, under Section 309(6) of the BNS read with Sections 25/27 of the Arms Act.
During the course of investigation, police seized 17.440 grams of gold ornaments, around 6.285 kg of silver ornaments and one country-made pistol.
Police said special teams were formed after technical analysis and credible intelligence inputs pointed to the involvement of the accused in the robbery cases. The teams conducted simultaneous raids at several locations in Jajpur district, Chhattisgarh and Bihar.
The coordinated operation led to the arrest of the two accused and the recovery of the looted ornaments and firearm, police said.
The recovered property is being verified in connection with the two robbery cases.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain whether the accused were involved in other similar incidents and to identify any other persons linked to the crimes.
