Bhubaneswar: As part of strict enforcement of road safety rules, the State Transport Authority (STA) on Wednesday issued a total of 11,011 e-challans across Odisha. In addition, 26 vehicles were seized for various traffic violations.
According to the official data released by the STA, the highest number of challans were issued for riding without a helmet, accounting for 6,402 cases. Speeding violations led to 1,061 challans, while 283 vehicles were booked for plying without valid insurance. Triple riding accounted for 266 cases.
The STA has appealed to all road users to strictly follow traffic rules to ensure a safe journey and return home safely. Continuous monitoring and strict action against violators will continue across the state to improve road safety.
