Bhubaneswar: More than Rs 5,160 crore will be transferred directly into the bank accounts of 1,03,26,162 eligible beneficiaries under the fifth instalment of the SUBHADRA scheme on August 28, on the occasion of Rakhi Purnima, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said on Friday.
A preparatory review meeting was held under Parida’s chairpersonship at the Women and Child Development Department conference hall here to review arrangements for the disbursement, which is scheduled to be held in Nayagarh district.
Officials of the Women and Child Development Department, the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) and representatives of various banks attended the meeting.
Parida reviewed the arrangements for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), beneficiary identification, banking facilities and other logistical preparations for the fifth instalment. She directed officials and bank representatives to complete the DBT process within the stipulated timeline and strengthen banking arrangements to ensure that beneficiaries do not face any inconvenience.
The Deputy Chief Minister also stressed effective coordination among all stakeholders and timely completion of preparations for the smooth and seamless disbursement of the instalment.
The SUBHADRA scheme provides financial assistance to eligible women beneficiaries in Odisha through direct transfers to their bank accounts.
