Kataka: Three private school buses allegedly operating without valid permits and fitness certificates were seized during a checking drive in the Banki area of Kataka district on Monday.
According to reports, the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Kataka and the Odisha Motor Vehicle Department (OMVD) carried out the enforcement drive. A joint team of officials intercepted three buses that were carrying school students during the inspection.
On verification, officials found that the buses did not possess any valid permit or fitness certificate. Despite not having the mandatory documents, the vehicles were being used to transport schoolchildren.
Following the violations, all three vehicles were seized. Officials are now examining the remaining documents and investigating other possible violations of motor vehicle rules.
