Two Farmers Electrocuted In Jagatsinghpur Village

Jagatsinghpur: Two farmers were electrocuted after allegedly coming in contact with an electric wire while returning from their farmland at Benukhanda village under Sadar police station limits in Jagatsinghpur district on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Sagar Bhoi and Ajay Sahoo, both residents of Benukhanda village.

According to reports, the two farmers had gone to their farmland to carry out agricultural work. After completing their work, they were reportedly returning from the field on a tractor when they came in contact with an electric wire that had allegedly been laid underground in the area.

The two men suffered severe electric shocks and collapsed on the spot.

After being informed about the incident, some villagers rushed to the location and rescued the farmers. They were subsequently taken to the Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

However, doctors examined the two men and declared them dead.

Following the incident, villagers alleged that the electric wire had been laid underground illegally in the area. They demanded an immediate investigation into the matter and action against those responsible for allegedly laying the wire.
