Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a man and his young grandson reportedly died after being bitten by a snake at Tileimal under Bonai sub-division in Sundaragada district.
The deceased have been identified as Rabi Nayak (68) and his 11-year-old grandson.
As per reports, the grandfather-grandson duo was sleeping inside their house when they were bitten by a poisonous snake. They were immediately rushed to Bonai Hospital for treatment. However, doctors there declared both dead.
The sudden deaths have left the family and villagers in deep shock.
Police have been informed and further procedures, including post-mortem examination, are expected to be carried out.
