Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress leader and former MLA from Padampur Assembly constituency, Satya Bhusan Sahu, passed away at the age of 73.
He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
Sahu had been elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly three times from the Padampur seat on a Congress ticket – in 1980, 1985 and 2004. During his tenure in the Assembly, he showcased his legislative acumen and held the important position of Government Chief Whip.
His untimely demise has cast a deep shadow of grief over Padampur region as well as the entire political fraternity of Odisha.
Locals and leaders from various quarters have prayed for the eternal peace of his departed soul and expressed condolences to the bereaved family members.
