Koraput: Miscreants snatched a gold chain from a 56-year-old woman on the pretext of asking for petrol in the wee hours of Thursday.
The incident took place at around 5 am today in Phampuni village under Jeypore police limits in Koraput district.
According to reports, 56-year-old Mandadari Nayak was sweeping in front of her house, like every day, when three bike-borne youths arrived on a bike. The youths approached her on the pretext of asking for petrol and allegedly snatched the gold chain from her neck and fled on the bike.
Upon being informed, police have reached the spot and have started an investigation into the incident.
