Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued a yellow warning for Bhubaneswar and 10 other Odisha districts, forecasting light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms at one or two places during the next three hours.
According to the Nowcast Warning issued by the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, at 4.10 pm on August 27, the alert covers Khordha, including Bhubaneswar, Baleshwar, Kendujhar, Sambalpur, Sundaragada, Puri, Mayurbhanj, Debagada, Anugola and Kendrapada districts.
The weather office advised people in the warned areas to keep a watch on changing weather conditions and plan their activities accordingly for safety.
The warning comes amid continued spells of rain and thunderstorms in several parts of Odisha, with the weather system likely to bring sudden deterioration in conditions at isolated locations during the alert period.
